Based on Terry Real's Approach to Relational Empowerment
Elyse Hope Killoran received her Relational Coach certification through Terry Real's Relational Life Therapy Institute (RLT) and is enthusiastic about sharing this very vital material with adults of all ages. The "Empowering Communication" presentation introduces the cornerstones of "Relational Empowerment" in an interactive entertaining manner.
Relational empowerment emphasizes shifting from individualistic power to a "team" mindset in relationships.
This approach involves empowering your partner to meet your needs through loving accountability and skill-building, fostering mutual support and a "we're a team" approach rather than an "us versus them" mentality.
Relational empowerment is, therefore, a form of self-interest because your partner's ability to come through for you is at the heart of what is in your best interest, and practicing this requires moving away from blame and criticism towards making requests with love and supporting your partner's success.
Meet Elyse Hope Killoran
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with honors in Psychology in 1987, Elyse spent a decade in traditional education - with both high school students (as a HS Psychology teacher) and seniors (as an Educational Program Coordinator at Gurwin Geriatric Center). In 1997, Elyse shifted gears to become a "Jump Start Mentor Coach" through Coach U - one of the first US training programs for coaches.
Upon establishing a successful personal coaching platform working with individuals, Elyse's natural inclination to teach courses led her to begin offering a series of virtual tele-classes. She built a significant online presence in the early 2000's - with thousands of individuals enrolled in her courses and over 40,000 people playing the online Choosing Prosperity Game. Then, in 2014, Elyse followed a strong impulse to put her courses on hold in order to dive deeply into the heart of relationality.
Elyse has spent the past decade becoming certified in a variety of tools and techniques focused on recalibrating individual nervous systems:
- Certified Brainspotting (Trauma) Practitioner
- Certified Havening (Amygdala Depotentiation) Facilitator
...and developing high level expertise in the nuances of relationship dynamics:
- Certified Relateful Facilitator
- Relational Life Therapy - Certified RLT Relational Coach
Elyse is now bringing the full spectrum of her experience - from psychology, interpersonal neurobiology, relational dynamics and trauma resolution - together in a dynamically impactful way.
